Hachinohe Sansha Taisai 2026

The Hachinohe Sansha Taisai is a Shinto shrine festival held annually in Hachinohe City, Aomori Prefecture, from July 31 to August 4.

The schedule includes:

• July 31 – Eve Festival

• August 1 – Owatari (Shinko Festival)

• August 2 – Middle Day

• August 3 – Okaeri (Kanko Festival)

• August 4 – Late-Night Festival

The “Three Shrines” refer to Ogami Shrine (Horei Mountain Ogami Shrine), Chojasanzan Shinra Shrine, and Shinmeigu.

The festival features the processions of portable shrines from the three shrines, along with over 20 magnificent doll-decorated floats created by community groups representing various neighborhoods of Hachinohe.

During the festival, approximately 1.05 to 1.4 million visitors attend.
