Goshogawara Tachineputa Festival 2024
The Goshogawara Tachineputa Matsuri is a festival held in Goshogawara City, Aomori Prefecture, from August 4th to August 8th. While sharing similarities with Aomori’s Nebuta Festival, the Goshogawara Tachineputa Matsuri is distinct in its towering floats, with some reaching a height of over 20 meters.
Although there is occasional confusion, it is important to note that the correct name is “Goshogawara Tachineputa” and not “Goshogawara Tachiwaduta.” The characters for “Tachineputa” include “佞” (nei) and “倭” (wa or i), and it is not a typo for “Tachiwaduta.” This festival showcases the grandeur of enormous floats parading through the city streets, providing a unique and visually stunning experience for spectators.
