Nabekaburi Festival　2026

Chikuma Shrine is a Shinto shrine located in Maibara City, Shiga Prefecture, Japan. It is a historic shrine recorded in ancient national chronicles and was formerly ranked as a prefectural shrine. The shrine is well known for the Nabekaburi Festival, regarded as one of Japan’s Three Great Strange Festivals, and the festival is designated as an Intangible Folk Cultural Property of Maibara City.
