Comiket, Comic Market C105 2024

The official X account for the world’s largest doujinshi sales event, Comic Market, announced that this winter, the event will not be held on New Year’s Eve for the first time in 10 years.

The X account stated, “We are pleased to announce the schedule for Comic Market 105 in the winter of 2024! The event will be held from Sunday, December 29, to Monday, December 30, 2024. The venue will be the entire Tokyo Big Sight. This is the first time we are avoiding New Year’s Eve since C87, 10 years ago.”

It continued, “Comic Market first held the event on New Year’s Eve in the winter of 2006 at C71. The former representative, Yonezawa, who decided on this schedule, passed away in the fall of that year, so the event was held without him.”

“After that, Comic Market has consistently held the event on New Year’s Eve, except when it was unavoidable due to the calendar (such as in the winter of 2008 with C75 and the winter of 2014 with C87). This year marks the first time in 10 years that the event will be held without New Year’s Eve. We hope to see all the circles and attendees at the event this winter!”
