Hinokinai River Sakura When 2024
The Hinokinai River Bank Cherry Blossom Festival in 2023 was held from April 15 (Saturday) to April 30 (Sunday). The event took place from around 17:30 to midnight.
Hinokinai River Bank is a famous cherry blossom spot located in Kakunodate-cho, Senboku City, Akita Prefecture. Approximately 2 km of Somei Yoshino cherry trees are planted along the left bank embankment, originally planted in 1934 to commemorate the birth of Emperor Showa.
During the cherry blossom festival, various events were held, including the illumination of cherry blossoms, food stalls, and performances of local traditional arts. Additionally, the area features ancient trees with an age of over 300 years, including 162 weeping cherry trees designated as a natural monument of Japan.
