Jingu Gaien Fire works fes 2024
Jingu Gaien Fireworks Festival (Jingu Gaien Hanabi Taikai) is an annual fireworks event held in August at Tokyo’s Meiji Jingu Gaien. The event is organized by Pia, Nikkan Sports Shimbunsha, and TV Asahi.
Overview:
The first edition took place on August 1, 1980, commemorating the 60th anniversary of the enshrinement of Meiji Shrine. It was held at Meiji Jingu Stadium, featuring 3,000 fireworks launched from beside the stadium’s back screen and a 110-meter Niagara firework. The event captivated a large audience that gathered on the day. Since then, it has become an annual tradition, taking place at various venues, including Meiji Jingu Stadium, Chichibunomiya Rugby Stadium, and a softball field.
Known as one of Tokyo’s representative fireworks festivals, it stands alongside the Sumida River Fireworks Festival.
