Kawakami gorge Spring festival 2024
川上峡春まつり (Kawakami-kyou Haru Matsuri) is an event held at Kawakami-kyou in Omachi, Saga City, Saga Prefecture. The festival features approximately 300 carp streamers (koinobori) swimming upstream and downstream of the Kanjin Bridge over the Kase River, which can be viewed from houseboats.
The Kawakami-kyou Haru Matsuri in 2024 is scheduled to be held from March 10th to May 26th.
This festival originated with the aim of allowing many people to enjoy carp streamers that were donated by citizens. The streamers add a vibrant and festive atmosphere to the Kawakami-kyou area during the spring festival.
