Movie A few moments of cheers 2024

The story of “Asayaka Kanata” centers around a high school student named Kanata Asaya, who immerses himself in creating music videos (MVs). His passion leads him to witness a street performance that deeply moves him, inspiring him to create an MV for the song. However, the performer turns out to be his music teacher, Yuu Oruie, who has given up on pursuing a career in music.

The film follows the unexpected connection between Kanata and Yuu, illustrating the joys and challenges of the creative process. It features a screenplay by Jukki Hanada, known for “Love Live!” and “A Place Further Than the Universe.” The visual production is crafted by the three-person team “Hurray!” consisting of “popurika,” “ohajiki,” and “magotsuki,” who handle the direction, animation, character design, and more.

The team’s previous work includes MVs for the artist Yorushika and the ending animation for the anime “Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie.” This theater animation marks their debut, utilizing the free 3DCG software “Blender” to create a unique and intricate visual style.

The music in the film, performed by Yuu Oruie, is produced by the vocal producer VIVI and sung by singer-songwriter Kei Sugawara, recognized as a next-generation artist by Spotify’s “RADAR: Early Noise 2022.” Sugawara’s androgynous and emotional voice conveys the deep feelings Yuu infuses into her songs.

The film aims to leave viewers inspired and uplifted, providing them with “a few moments of encouragement.”
