Movie My Oni Girl 2024

High school freshman Hiiragi has a desire to not be disliked by others, leading him to develop a habit of being unable to refuse requests. Despite always trying his best to help others, he finds himself without any close friends.

One summer day, unseasonal snow begins to fall. After another day of fulfilling requests for others, Hiiragi returns home feeling unsatisfied with his efforts. On his way back, he encounters Tsumugi, who needs a place to stay, and decides to help her. However, that night, an incident occurs.

Hiiragi nearly gets into an argument with his father but conceals his true feelings. He goes to sleep holding back his emotions, only to wake up shivering in a room that has frozen over. As he awakens, a mysterious creature wearing a mask attacks him, but Tsumugi intervenes, helping him escape.

Once they catch their breath, Hiiragi notices Tsumugi has horns on her head. She reveals that she is an “oni” (a demon) searching for her mother, whom she was separated from at a young age.

Hiiragi learns that the “snow” emerging from him is actually “small demons” that stem from a person hiding their true emotions. If these small demons accumulate, a person may become an oni. Tsumugi asks Hiiragi to help her find her mother, and he agrees, unable to refuse her request.

The two embark on a journey together, while, at the same time, an incident occurs in Tsumugi’s hometown, the hidden oni village of “Nabari no Sato.”
