Nebuta Matsuri 2024
The Aomori Nebuta Festival (Aomori Nebuta Matsuri) is held from August 2 to 7 in Aomori City, Aomori Prefecture.
In 1980, it was designated an Important Intangible Folk Cultural Asset of Japan. It is considered one of the three major festivals in Tohoku.

18:00–21:00 (scheduled) (Venue: Aoi Umi Park Special Stage)
Eve Festival
August 2-3
19:00 onwards (Starts from the Nebuta Kyodo Sokosha Kousaten)
Children’s Nebuta (approximately 10 floats planned) and Large Nebuta (approximately 15 floats planned) processions
August 4-6
18:50 onwards (Starts from the Nebuta Shinmachi Yanagimachi Kousaten)
Procession of Large Nebuta (approximately 20 floats planned)
Results of the judging conducted from August 2-5 will be tallied, and on August 6, the Nebuta Grand Prize and other awards will be announced.

Procession of Large Nebuta (approximately 20 floats planned)

69th Aomori Fireworks Festival and Nebuta Maritime Procession
The award-winning Nebuta will sail through Aomori Port, adorning the finale of the Nebuta Festival with fireworks.
※ Nebuta Maritime Procession involves four floats.
Witness the fantastical Nebuta floating on the sea and the spectacular fireworks illuminating the summer night sky of Michinoku.
