The journey continues – the highly anticipated second stage performance of “Fullmetal Alchemist” has been confirmed!
Originally serialized in Monthly Shonen Gangan (published by Square Enix) from 2001 to 2010, Hiromu Arakawa’s masterpiece “Fullmetal Alchemist” became a historic work in the world of Japanese manga. Affectionately known as “Hagaren,” the series gained immense popularity among people of all ages for its alchemy-based battle action, epic and intricate storyline spanning history and nations, and its vividly depicted, diverse, and captivating characters.
With a cumulative global series sales exceeding 80 million copies, “Hagaren” has expanded its reach across various media including TV anime, animated films, games, and a live-action movie. Celebrating its 20th anniversary in March 2023, the stage play “Fullmetal Alchemist” debuted in Osaka and Tokyo, directed and written by Sachiko Ishimaru. The production garnered significant attention for its stage effects, the actors’ physical expressions, realistic character visuals, and the dramatic live band performances that brought the story to life.
Now, in June 2024, the long-awaited sequel is set to take the stage. The lead role of Edward Elric will once again be played by Yohhei Isshiki and Ryo Hirota in a double cast. With new allies joining the journey, the story revolving around the “Philosopher’s Stone” will become more intricately entwined. Don’t miss the powerful journey of the Elric brothers as they navigate through the chaos.
