Hitachi Cherry Blossom Festival 2026

“Hitachi Furyumono” is a folk cultural property handed down in Hitachi City, Ibaraki Prefecture.
It refers to the large mobile and transformable festival floats preserved at the local guardian shrine, Kamimine Shrine, as well as the puppet theater (mechanical doll performances) staged atop them.
Originally offered by parishioners during the grand festival of Kamimine Shrine, it is now showcased every April during the Hitachi Cherry Blossom Festival and once every seven years during the Kamimine Shrine Grand Festival held in May (the next scheduled event is in 2026).
