Gujo Odori, 2026

Gujo Odori, also known as Gujo Bushi, is a traditional Bon dance held in Hachiman-cho, Gujo City, Gifu Prefecture (formerly Gujo-gun Hachiman-cho, commonly called “Gujo Hachiman”). It is counted as one of Japan’s three major Bon dances, and Gujo Bushi is also regarded as one of the three major Japanese folk songs. The event is held over 32 nights each year from mid-July to early September, and during the all-night dances of the Obon period, tens of thousands of dancers gather from all over Japan.
