The Takaoka Mikurumayama Festival 2026

The Takaoka Mikurumayama Festival is a spring festival held on May 1 each year in Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture. It is the oldest and most historically significant float festival in the region. Seven festival floats, known as “Mikurumayama,” parade gracefully through the old streets accompanied by traditional festival music. A pre-festival event takes place on April 30. The festival is designated as both a nationally Important Tangible and Intangible Folk Cultural Property and is also registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.
