Takaoka Mikurumayama Matsuri 2024
高岡御車山祭り（Takaoka Mikurumayama Matsuri）is an annual spring festival held on May 1st in Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture. With a history of over 400 years, it is a parade celebrating the foundation of Takaoka City.
During this festival, seven beautifully decorated floats (Mikurumayama) make an appearance. These floats are a source of pride for the townspeople and are said to be modeled after the imperial court carriage.
Takaoka Mikurumayama Matsuri is recognized as one of the five major festivals of flying floats by UNESCO, highlighting its cultural and historical significance.
