Utsunomiya Fireworks Festival 2024
The summer tradition in Utsunomiya, the “Utsunomiya Hanabi Taikai” (Utsunomiya Fireworks Festival), will be held on August 10 (Saturday) at the Dojojuku Green Park on the Kinugawa Riverbed in Utsunomiya City. The event kicks off with a spectacular display of two-foot-diameter shells launched in sets of three, followed by approximately 20,000 fireworks illuminating the night sky of Utsunomiya.
This year’s theme is “未来” (Mirai), meaning “future” in English. The Utsunomiya fireworks festival was revived in 2007 in the form of a volunteer organizing committee. Since then, it has continued to operate, coordinating planning, sponsorship, and other activities. This year marks the 18th edition of the festival.
