n Chichibu’s spring, the vast grounds of Yomoyama Park are adorned with a fluffy carpet of shibazakura, or pink moss phlox. This creates a flower-filled space with various hues, forming a picturesque scene along the walking paths. At the foot of Chichibu’s symbolic Mt. Buko, the Shibazakura Hill in Yomoyama Park is a renowned spring attraction.
The planting area of shibazakura boasts one of the largest scales in the Kanto region, featuring a diverse array of colors. The planted area spans approximately 17,600 square meters, comprising 10 varieties and over 400,000 plants. The blooming period for shibazakura typically occurs from mid-April to early May (subject to variations depending on the year). Visitors can enjoy a leisurely stroll through this enchanting landscape, gently touched by the sweet fragrance of spring breezes.
