Nihonmatsu Lantern Festival 2026

The Nihonmatsu Lantern Festival is the annual grand festival of Nihonmatsu Shrine in Nihonmatsu City, Fukushima Prefecture. It is considered one of Japan’s Three Great Lantern Festivals.
The festival music (hayashi) has been designated as an Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property of Fukushima Prefecture, and in 2011, the festival itself was also designated as an Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property of the prefecture.
