Hokuryu Sunflower Festival 2026
Himawari-no-Sato in Hokuryu, Hokkaido is one of Japan’s largest sunflower attractions, featuring 23.13 hectares and about 1.5 million sunflowers. The best viewing season is mid-July to mid-August, with the peak in early August. The area is open 24 hours year-round and free to enter, but shops and sightseeing vehicles operate only during the “Sunflower Festival” (mid-July to late August).
Highlights include the Sunflower Tourism Center, sunflower mazes, rental bicycles, the “Sunflower Train” tractor ride, and a display of sunflower varieties from around the world.
According to tourism research, although SNS posts from Taiwan and Korea are few, the site receives particularly high evaluations from Taiwanese visitors.
