Kumagaya Uchiwa Festival 2026

The Kumagaya Uchiwa Festival is the annual grand festival of Yasaka Shrine in Kamakurachō, Kumagaya City, Saitama Prefecture.
It is held over five days from July 19 to 23 each year (with the main public events taking place from July 20 to 22).
The name comes from the Meiji period custom of distributing durable “shibu-uchiwa” (fans coated with persimmon tannin) during the festival.
