Tochigi-TV Anime Festa! 2024
The event takes place in a wide area centered around the Orion Street Shopping District in Utsunomiya City. It involves activities such as stages for TV anime broadcasts on Tochigi TV, and the opening of the shopping district for cosplay. Initially scheduled for the first edition on March 13, 2011, it was canceled due to the Great East Japan Earthquake (Tohoku Earthquake) and was rescheduled for May 6, 2012. From 2015 onwards, the event has been supported by the Moe Character Society, and it has evolved into a larger subculture event, co-hosting the “Local Moe Character Festival.”
In addition to events like Furusato Miyamatsuri, the Japan Cup Cycle Road Race, and Miyajazz Inn, this event is one of the activities that significantly increases pedestrian traffic on Orion Street. During the event period, more than 30,000 people pass through Orion Street each day.
