【Hokkaido】Erased

Japan's northernmost tip, a seafood paradise, welcome to Hokkaido! Tomakomai in Hokkaido is also anime locations for Erased. There are many anime locations like the Shimizu Pedestrian Bridge where Satoru kill Kayo's mother, Tomakomai City Science Center where Satoru and Kayo played, and Tomakomai Misono Elementary School where Satoru and his friends attended. Beyond Tomakomai, Hokkaido offers many anime locations, such as Golden Kamuy, which uses whole Hokkaido, and Love Live Sunshine!! Season 2, which features locations like Hachiman-zaka in Hakodate, Lucky Pierrot restaurant, and Obihiro City from Silver Spoon. It might be difficult to visit all of these places in just a few days, so staying for over a week is recommended to fully explore Hokkaido!!

【Aomori】CLANNAD

City of Nebuta Festival, that's Aomori Prefecture! Located at the northern tip of Mainland, Aomori's Yokohama Town is anime locations from Key visual art's representative work, CLANNAD. Among the various locations, the canola flower fields of Yokohama Town, where Tomoya walked as Ushio's father, and the Mutsu-Yokohama Station where Tomoya and Nagisa get off the train during their trip. The canola flower fields in Yokohama Town have been hosting an event called Catch in the Canola Flower Fields annually since 2019, where you can also buy limited goodies during the event!! 【Miyagi】宇崎ちゃんはびたい!
Uzaki Chan wants to hang out!

Annoying but endearing comedy featuring a cute Kohai. Anime locations for this anime is in Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture! In the series, Sendai Station appears multiple times for the fictional Station. Additionally, you can find locations like Tohoku University, the model for the university where Sakurai and Uzaki-chan goes. Sendai also appeared in other famous series, such as being the inspiration for Morioh Town in Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Part 4 and the hometown of Hirohiko Araki, the author of jojo series. It's also appeared in Jujutsu Kaisen, being the hometown of Yuji Itadori and Gege Akutami. The intense battles of Yuta Okkotsu in the Sendai Colony during the Culling Game were also set in this city. Walking through Sendai, you might just catch a glimpse of the author's inspiration and the atmosphere from the series!

Tokyo


Tokyo, the central and largest city of Japan. It serves as anime locations for Jujutsu Kaisen, Bocchi the Rock, and Makoto Shinkai films. Tokyo is a hub of culture, entertainment, and creativity, making it an inspiring place for artists and stories.

【Akihabara】Steins;Gate

Akihabara is an absolute paradise for otaku. One step inside, and you're immersed in anime, games, and maid cafes, a fantastic place where various favorites come together!! Akihabara served as the Anime locations for Steins;Gate, and among the numerous anime locations, Radio Kaikan played an important role in the story. The current Radio Kaikan has been renovated, so you might not find much resemblance to what you saw in anime but, you can still enjoy visiting anime locations around Akihabara!!

【Shibuya】Jujutsu Kaisen

Shibuya is undeniably one of the stylish districts in Japan, and it currently serves as anime locations for the ongoing anime, Jujutsu Kaisen: Shibuya Incident, which is showing Shibuya as it was around 2018. Shibuya Station, with its Fukutoshin Line platform 5, is the place where Satoru Gojo, as well as Jogo and other special grade curses, engage in intense battles. Scenes also take place at the Meiji-Jingumae Station, where Yuji Itadori confronts Ko-guy. In addition to Jujutsu Kaisen, Shibuya is a popular anime locations for fans of Persona 5 and 5 Centimeters Per Second. If you're interested, it's definitely worth checking out these iconic locations!"

【Shimokitazawa】Bocchi the Rock!

Shimokitazawa, often referred to as a hub for Japanese subculture and rock, has gained additional popularity as anime locations for anime Bocchi the Rock! In Shimokitazawa, you can find various locations !! Some of these include Shimokitazawa Shelter, which served as the inspiration for Starry, the live house where Bocchi-chan and her friends perform. The Honda Theater (Village Vanguard Shimokitazawa Store) is where Kita-chan was found. Additionally, Times Shimokitazawa No. 8 is where they took Artist photos for Kessoku band.

【Shinjuku】Shinkai Makoto films

The busiest commercial district in Tokyo is Shinjuku, where skyscrapers dominate the skyline!! This city has been featured in numerous animes!! Particularly, in the films of Makoto Shinkai, it has appeared in works like 5 Centimeters Per Second, The Garden of Words, Your Name, Weathering with You, and Suzume!! Especially noteworthy are locations like Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden where Takao and Yukino meet and Suga Shrine where Taki and Mitsuha reunite in Your Name. Beyond Makoto Shinkai's works, Shinjuku also served as anime locations in Jujutsu Kaisen where Suguru Geto and Satoru Gojo diverged near Omoide Yokocho!! Many works have used Shinjuku as a stage for their stories!

【Nerima】
Your lie in April

A normal residential area that has become the anime location, that's Nerima. Nerima has the essence of the youth that Arima and others experienced. Locations such as Nerima Culture Center where Arima Kosei first met Miyazono Kaori (there are no playground equipment in real), Patisserie KAMITANI where Kosei went to buy canelés for Kaori (and currently it seems they do sell canelés), and Oizumi Gakuen Street with its memorable cherry blossoms!! Furthermore, Nerima Station has been anime locations for Chainsaw Man, and there's the Toei Animation Museum. For fans, moving to Nerima might even be a consideration!

【Sumida】
Lycoris Recoil

If you're anime fans, you've probably heard of Sakana~ Chinnanago~ at least once! The story of Lycoris in Lycoris Recoil is located in Sumida district. You can find anime locations in the area, such as Sumida Aquarium, which Chisato took Takina to for encouragement, the model for the old radio tower, Tokyo Skytree, and Kinshi Park, where Chisato took a break while introducing works to Takina. Next to Sumida district, Taito district also has locations like Kaminarimon in Asakusa. We recommend seeing Sakana and Chinnanago at Sumida Aquarium and, while enjoying Asakusa sightseeing, indulge going in into some anime locations!

Saitama


Not saying there's nothing. Easy access from Tokyo. A perfect blend of tradition and modernity. No sea, no airport. That's Saitama!!

【Chichibu】あの日見た花の名前を僕達はまだ知らない。
Anohana:The Flower We Saw That Day

One of the most famous anime locations in Saitama is Chichibu! This city with its beautiful nature and rivers, served as anime locations for Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day. Many memories are intertwined with Chichibu, such as the Chichibu Bridge that often appears in key visuals, Chichibu Shrine featured in anime, and Jorin-ji Temple where Super Peace Busters held their meetings! Additionally, Chichibu is also known as anime locations for the anime The Anthem of the Heart and Her Blue Sky, both created by the same creative team. Why not go to Chichibu and search for Menma??

【Washinomiya】らき☆すた
Lucky☆Star

Welcome to Kuki City, home to the oldest shrine in Kanto! In Kuki City's Washinomiya, you'll find Washinomiya Shrine, the oldest major shrine in Kanto. Not to mention, this shrine has become anime location for Lucky☆Star! In anime, it's the residence of Kagami Hiiragi and Tsukasa Hiiragi, and it appears in various dailylife scenes and the New Year's episode. Torii and the tea house next to it are particularly iconic, and they're even featured in the opening movie! There are other places to explore too, like the Miyamae Bridge located next to the shrine, which Kagami used for her commute, and the statue of Tsukasa at Washinomiya Post Office. So, if you're a fan, it's definitely a place worth visiting!

【Kawagoe】神様はじめました
Kamisama Kiss

Welcome to Kawagoe, Little Edo! It's accessible from Tokyo in just about an hour, offering various ways to enjoy your visit. Whether you want to indulge in foodie adventures or immerse yourself in history, Kawagoe has something for everyone! Notably, Kawagoe is also known as anime locations for Kamisama Kiss, Asteroid in Love, Tsuki ga Kirei, and Kawagoe Boys Sing, which began in October. Besides savoring local cuisine and exploring its historical sites, why not try a trip to these anime locations?

【Saitama】その人形をする
My Dress-up Darling!!

Welcome to Saitama City, the center of Saitama! Iwatsuki in Saitama City is known as a town of Hina dolls and is also a holy place for My Dress-Up Darling!! You can explore the Iwatsuki Station, which appeared in episodes 1 and 6, and koujin Ningyo, which appeared as the model for the house where Wakana Gojo lives. In addition, hotel used for a succubus cosplay photoshoot with Marin Kitagawa in episode 11 is located in Urawa City, next to Saitama City. Kanagawa, the most photogenic prefecture in Japan that perfectly harmonizes foreign and Japanese cultures!! Kanagawa has being anime locations for many of famous anime, including Slam Dunk, Bunny Girl Senpai, and Bungo Stray Dogs!

【Yokohama】文豪ストレイドッグス
Bungo Stray Dogs

Yokohama City has many landmarks like Yokohama Chinatown, Minato Mirai, and Red Brick Warehouse. It's also significant anime locations for numerous anime, with one of the most notable being Bungo Stray Dogs! In the anime, locations like Yokohama Chinatown, Circle Walk featured in the opening and movie, and the Yokohama Archives of History visited by KyoKa Izumi and Atsushi Nakajima during their date are appeared!! Not only for Bungo Stray Dogs fans but also for fans and producers of The idolmaster, The idolm@ster cinderella girls, and Blue Spring Ride, as these anime also have their anime locations in the city. Producers and fans of these series will find much to enjoy!

【Kamakura】SLAMDUNK

Welcome to Kamakura city, anime locations of the world-famous basketball manga, SLAM DUNK! When you think of Kamakura's anime locations, the famous railroad crossing probably comes to mind. This crossing is located next to Kamakura Koko-mae Station and has also appeared in Hanayamata and TARI TARI! Kamakura Koko-mae Station is also featured in the later mentioned Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai series. Other anime locations in Kamakura include the Great Buddha that has stood for 3,000 years (from Dr. Stone), Shichirigahama Beach where memories were sought (from Kakushigoto), and the ordinary daily life of high school students depicted in the Fukazawa area in Kamakura city (from Just Because!). Kamakura has a wealth of anime locations for fans to explore!

Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai

The story of Adolescence Syndrome, Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai, is set in Fujisawa. Fujisawa features many locations from the series, such as Fujisawa City Library where Sakuta Azusagawa and Mai Sakurajima first meet, Enoshima Aquarium and Enoshima Benzaiten Nakamise Street where Sakuta go on a date with koga, and Fujisawa Station, which they use during their daily commute. we recommend going anime locations to Fujisawa with one to Kamakura!

【Hakone】Evangelion

One of the most famous hot spring towns in Kanto, and also home to NERV headquarters in New Tokyo-3 City, is Hakone Town. It's a place where fans of Neon Genesis Evangelion won't want to miss, featuring locations like Hakone Yumoto Station, which appeared in Episode 4 of the original series, and New Gora Station from Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance. Additionally, there's a shop called Eva-ya that sells official limited edition goodies you can only find in Hakone, New Tokyo-3 City's Momoyamadai Station where the Eva Unit-01 welcomes you, and even Lawson(convenience store) in Hakone Sengokuhara, which is decorated entirely in Evangelion theme. These are all must-visit places for Evangelion fans!

Chiba


Chiba Prefecture, often considered as Japan's gateway, hosts various events like the Tokyo Game Show. Moreover, Chiba is renowned for being the setting of anime such as My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU, and Place to Place!!

My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU

Anime locations of the iconic youth romantic comedy, My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU, are concentrated in Chiba City!! These include Chiba Municipal Inage Senior High School, which serves as the model for Soubu High School!! You can also find LaLaport TOKYO-BAY, which features the famous Max Coffee vending machine, and Chiba Takasu Community Center, which was used as a venue for the Christmas event and rap battle in the anime. Furthermore, anime such as Place to Place and OreImo also takes place in Chiba City!! If you're a fan of those series, it's time to visit Chiba City!
