Anime Events

Recommended doujin events for beginners

One of the probably second most well-known doujin events in Japan! Comitia is held several times a year, not only in Tokyo but also in multiple locations. In comparison to Comiket, it has fewer participants, making it a recommended event for those who want to take their time browsing doujinshi and other fan-made goods or interacting with people.

Moreover, since it takes place multiple times a year, it's more accessible for participation compared to Comiket! Additionally, at Comitia, you won't find existing anime merchandise like Attack on Titan; instead, it exclusively features original doujin works. If you're looking for existing anime-related goods, it's recommended to attend other doujin events like Comiket. You can check more information here! Comic Market Page

Comitia (Toyko Comitia)

COMITIA is a doujinshi exhibition and sales event held four times a year in Tokyo (approximately in February, May, August, and November) that is limited to the genre of "original" works. Therefore, there are no secondary creations of anime works, etc. The organizing committee refers to it as a "self-published manga exhibition and sales event." The abbreviation is "Tia."

In terms of scale, the May event is considered an "expanded event," with a larger number of applications compared to other events. The November event follows this, while the February event tends to have fewer participants. Additionally, the August event is held right after the largest doujinshi exhibition, Comic Market, so the number of participants is usually lower compared to other events.

Even so, each event is held on a scale of tens of thousands of people, making it the largest event in COMITIA during any given period. In 2025, the events are planned for February, June, September, and November. These dates can also be confirmed on the official website.
