Anime Events

Recommended doujin events for beginners

Probably the second most famous doujin event in Japan! Comitia is held several times a year, not only in Tokyo but also in multiple locations. Compared to Comiket, it has fewer participants, making it a recommended event for those who want to leisurely browse and buy doujinshi and other doujin goods. Also, since it is held multiple times a year, it is easier to participate than Comiket!

At Comitia, there are no existing anime goods like those from Attack on Titan; only original doujin works and goods are sold. If you want existing anime-related merchandise, we recommend attending other doujin events such as Comiket. You can check here! Comiket page.

Comitia (Toyko Comitia)

COMITIA is a large-scale doujinshi event held four times a year in Tokyo (typically in February, May, August, and November). It is strictly focused on original (self-created) works—meaning no fan works or secondary creations based on existing anime or manga. The organizing committee describes it as an "Independent Comic Magazine Exhibition and Sale." The event is often nicknamed "TIA" by fans.

Among the four annual events, the May edition is the largest, designated as an "expanded event" with more exhibitor spaces. The November event follows in scale, while the February edition tends to have fewer participants. The August COMITIA often sees a drop in attendance as it takes place right after the massive Comic Market (Comiket). Even so, each COMITIA attracts tens of thousands of attendees, making it one of the largest original doujinshi events in Japan. In 2025, events are scheduled for February, June, September, and November. For more information, visit the official website.
